So you live under a rock, eh?

If you do, in fact, live under a rock and have yet to hear, my amazing husband has started the process to medically discharge from the Army. I am beyond proud of him for all of the time and sacrifice he put into his military career, and even more proud for how persistent he is being with his health. The next 8 or so months will be full of doctors appointments, briefings, and stress that we have never experienced before as a couple, or even when we were not together. We’ve already had a few disagreements stemming from the stress it’s bringing on him and my lack of knowledge on how this goes. The process is long, with a lot of “hurry up and wait” moments. But let me tell you what’s getting us through…. ☺️

Not only will the love of my life not have to endure such wear and tear on his body every day, he is on the road to find out if there are underlying issues that cause him pain in multiple areas. At one point last week, he had 16 appointments scheduled!! 😳

The main reason I think we are both so excited about this process, is that in roughly 8 months (give or take a few weeks) we get to come back home….FOR GOOD!!!

Yes, you read that right! Back to the scorching summers, family, and friends. ☀️☀️☀️ ⬅️I hate to admit how excited we are for that sunshine. 😉

We have missed out on so many things, him more than I have. And because we are both big family people, it’s a tough pill to swallow when your job forces you to live elsewhere. But we will finally be back to where our hearts have wanted to be for a long time.

Moving back also means some new adventures:
🔹buying our first house
🔹finding jobs or going to school
🔹starting a family

Again, your eyes are not deceiving you, that does in fact say “starting a family”!!! Probably not immediately, but within the next few years. We still have some living to do before we want to embark on the greatest adventure of all.

Those three things are stress in itself, but we are more anxious to actually get back, so those stresses are pushed to the wayside for now. I will say that such a big life change is keeping us so motivated to stay on track with our finances. We have actually worked out a plan to have any debt (excluding cars and student loans) completely paid off, and a little money in savings by the time we move. It’s an annoying thing to not splurge every now and then, but we have made such strides in just the last few weeks that it is motivation in itself.

Like I said previously, it’s going to a long, stressful process. But the end result is going to be what we’ve been wanting and needing for a long time. I realize that it seems we have been “living” this whole time, but we really haven’t. The things that are most important to the both of us are not here in Washington or included in any paycheck. It is all back in Arizona. And I can honestly say that I truly know we are both ecstatic about coming back!

Get ready for us Arizona! 2015 is our year!!! ❤️

Xoxo.
